What is website SEO

What is website SEO – SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is a practice to increase the quality and quantity of traffic to your website through organic search engine results.

What is website SEO

Let’s break the definition of SEO into different sub-parts:

  • Quality of Traffic

Quality of traffic means to generate visitors who are genuinely interested in your product and want to explore it that your website is offering them. You can attract a lot of visitors across the globe, but if they are coming to your site because Google tells them then that is not quality traffic. You have to generate traffic which is bringing benefit to your company.

  • Quantity of traffic

Once you have the right people clicking through from those search engine results pages (SERPs), more traffic is better.

  • Organic results

You can provide ads which can make up a significant portion of many SERPs. But this is not organic traffic; organic traffic is that traffic for which you don’t have to pay anything.

What is website SEO or How SEO works

When you search anything on any search engine, it gives you a list of websites from where you can get what you were searching for. Do you know that the list of websites provided by the search engines is in the order of highest traffic? Yes, this is true. But now, question arises that how these search engines can calculate that which website is having the highest traffic and which one is having the lowest?

Here’s how it works: Google (or any search engine you’re using) has a crawler that goes out and gathers information about all the content they can find on the Internet. The crawlers bring all those 1s and 0s back to the search engine to build an index. That index is then fed through an algorithm that tries to match all that data with your query.

Optimization can take many forms. It’s everything from making sure the title tags and Meta descriptions are both informative and the right length to pointing internal links at pages you’re proud of.

For using SEO for your website:

  • Build an SEO-friendly site: Apply SEO techniques to your site, whether it’s brand new or an old one that you are improving.
  • Content related markup: A site isn’t really a site until you have content. But SEO for content has enough specific variables that we’ve given it its own section.
  • Link related topics: Dig deep into everything you ever needed to know about links from anchor text to redirection. Create backlinks.
  • Other optimization: Congratulations! You’ve mastered the ins and outs of daily SEO and are now ready for some advanced topics. Make sure all that traffic has the easiest time possible converting with conversion rate optimization (CRO), then go micro level with local SEO or take that site global with international SEO.

Search engine algorithms change frequently and SEO tactics evolve in response to those changes.
